作者简介 乔治·诺瓦克（George Novack）生于波士顿，毕业于哈佛大学。1933 年参加美国社会主义工人党并成为党的领导成员；长期从事记者、编辑工作；从20 世纪60 年代初起开始在美国一些大学讲授马克思主义哲学，并发表了大量著作，其中主要有：《存在主义与马克思主义：关于人道主义的两种对立观点》（1965）、《唯物主义的起源》（1965）、《经验主义及其发展》（1968）、《民主和革命》（1971）、《人道主义和社会主义》（1973）、《实用主义和马克思主义》（1975）等。 译者简介 温建豪，1992 年生，2015 年毕业于云南师范大学社会学系。关注国际社会运动和激进社会理论，业余对相关内容进行翻译。
